May 4, 2003 - made test pattern for the head
- went to JoAnns to buy REAL fabric and more pins
- went to Menards to buy some wooden dowls and industrial strength glue stuff and affixed them inside head to better hold the shape with great assistance from Charles

May 3, 2003 - had costuming party with Steph, finished hot gluing batting

December 2002 -
March 2003

December 7, 2002
(Winter Break)
- bought poultry netting ("chicken wire") at local hardware store for head attempt #2. I recommend the plastic coated kind because not only do you get a lovely forest green color, but you're also less likely to hurt yourself and get blood on important stuff that might be near by (like fabric!)
some time before Thanksgiving - tossed out head attempt #1. The wire mesh was very difficult to work with given the scale of Hello Kitty's head - it couldn't hold its own weight!
- meditated on a better solution
August ?? - worked for several weeks on head attempt #1: made shape from wire mesh, started covering in celluclay, made big mess in the living room
- had to buy additional roll of wire mesh and more celluclay (because it's just so HUGE!)

April 21-July/August?? - bought wire mesh netting and celluclay for the head
- used my lovely stuffed Hello Kitty and additional sources to make sketches and get measurements and proportions. Had to do it all in centimeters, too, because I couldn't find a measuring tape in inches. Of course I have it now, but I'm too lazy to convert it all. Mostly I'm afraid I'll confuse myself!

April 21 - decided for sure!
pre-Acen 2002 - started thinking about this costume, if its humanly possible
